BACIGUARD® 16WDG is a broad spectrum biological insecticide which contains naturally occurring soil-borne bacteria that produce toxins which cause diseases in certain insects. It is therefore used to control a wide range of insect pests in agricultural crops.

MODE OF ACTION: Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) has to be eaten to cause mortality. Its toxins dissolve in the high pH insect gut and become active, then attack the gut cells of the insect, punching holes in the lining. The Bt spores spill out of the gut and germinate in the insect eventually causing death.

APPLICATION TECHNIQUE: Apply BACIGUARD® 16WDG as a direct spray ensuring adequate coverage of the foliage.
APPLICATION TIMING: Apply BACIGUARD® 16WDG when larvae are young and before crop is extensively damaged. If possible, apply when eggs begin to hatch. Repeat application at an interval of 5 days.
PREPARATION OF SPRAY MIXTURE: Fill spray tank with half the amount of required water. Add required amount of BACIGUARD® 16WDG and fill the water to the required level. Agitate to ensure thorough mixing. Ensure the spray mix is used on the same day it is prepared.
PHYTOTOXICITY: BACIGUARD® 16WDG is environmentally friendly, with little or no effect on humans, wildlife, pollinators, and most other beneficial insects, and is used in organic farming.
RE-ENTRY PERIOD: DO NOT enter treated areas during the restricted-entry interval of 1 hour. If prior entry is necessary, appropriate protective clothing should be worn.
POST HARVEST INTERVAL: No PHI concerns on any edible crops.
